Day 4: Lake Louise, Moraine Lake & Banff Gondola

Overview: This is a big day that requires the shuttle reservations you made in advance. The itinerary involves two iconic lakes and an optional gondola ride. It is a full day (around 8 hours of activities) with significant time on shuttles.

Morning: The Iconic Lakes

  • Shuttle Pickup: Head to the shuttle stop.
  • Lake Louise: Explore the shoreline. The area is flat and stroller-friendly, making it easy to navigate with a family.
  • Transfer to Moraine Lake: The Lake Connector shuttle is included in the reservation.
  • Moraine Lake: The short paved trail to the Rockpile viewpoint offers the classic view. A stroller is okay on the main path.

Afternoon & Evening: Banff Gondola & Hot Springs

  • Lunch in Banff: A family-friendly restaurant in the townsite[reference:24].
  • Banff Gondola: The enclosed cabin is safe but strollers are left at the base.
  • Banff Upper Hot Springs (Optional): A relaxing way to end the day. Kids love the warm pools, and infants can dip their toes while being supervised.
  • Drive back to Calgary: The kids will likely sleep in the car on the way back.

** Do’s & Don’ts for Families**

  • Do double-check your shuttle reservation times and location.
  • Do bring swimsuits and towels if you plan to visit the hot springs.
  • Do use the shuttle rides as a chance for everyone to rest.
  • Don’t miss your shuttle departure window. Plan to arrive early.
  • Don’t forget that strollers are not allowed on the gondola; bring a carrier for the infant, inf any.
